It's probably a Duetz 1011 , and it sounds more like the turbo. The engine is direct injected and I would think that would be a miss and it would run rough if one cyl wasn't working. Check the air filters And then pull the intake hose off the turbo and look for oil. The timing could be an issue...

Rookie, I might have made a mistake , my Gehls lock up the brakes when the seat switch is activated. If your Yanmar is like mine , no turbo, the starting fluid is for me no big deal.But I understand your concern. Hope you get it fixed.

The fuel problem could be either your lift pump or maybe the selenoid on the injection pump. you can do an emergency bypass of the lift pump by installing a electric pump and the selenoid you can test. It does sound like a fuel issue.

Ken's right, go with regular round chain.Make sure the chains fit the tire. I buy mine from military surplus for $75 a pair. They run them on five ton trucks. I cut them to length and end up with seven or eight extra cross links.scott
