I tried what you mentioned about taking the nut off the coil and seeing if the coil pulled itself back and the one did. The other one I could not pull it away. Does that mean the coil and stem is bad on that side? Should I replace the coil and stem on the one side and leave the other one go or...

What do you mean when you say coils? I checked the aux electric solenoids on the control valve and the the trigger in the handle. Are the coils you are talking about the same as the solenoids? What about the rear auxiliary diverter? It makes mention of it in the service manual but I cannot find...
