Interesting update: I got called out of town for a few days and just got back this morning and found my new (UPS delivered) starter and solenoid waiting on my door step. I just put the starter on the machine and, believe it or not, the engine turned over! I could tell by how easily and fast it...

after I determined that the starter was bad and tried to turn the engine, I figured the problem has to be with either or both of those issues. I didn't know how to check the hydraulics without turning the engine. How would I do that?

Thanks for all of the advice. This machine doesn't have the red knob under the trhottle. It has one button under the key in operator's upper left that, after starting the engine, you can press to get a green light which engages the bucket. It also has another button in the operator's upper right...

no, it feels like it normally would when the machine not running (shut down).

The levers move ok. I dragged the skid steer forward and backward and it's still locked up. I had my wife sit in the machine with the levers forward as I pulled it in that direction. The wheels didn't budge and it still wouldn't turn over. Is there a better way to free it up?

Is there a quick way to release the pressure and get it freed up? Any advice would be much appreciated.
