    Blue diamond forks

I will be in Seattle, WA soon to p/u a skid steer, and need forks. Are Blue Diamond good quality? They have dealers nearby. I got a quote on local ones, 48", 5K pounds, I think, and it was $1500; sounds a bit long to me. If BD is not so good, what are options? I live in Ak and want to avoid...

    Cat 236B

Brad: Other than this, how does your friend like his machine? It is on my list of possible machines.

    Cat 242D or 246D

Thanks. I will look at that specifically when I locate a machine.

    Cat 242D or 246D

Do you folks who run either of these machines have any complaints as far as routine maintenance goes? Is everything pretty accessible? I have not been able to locate one in town yet, but have seen similars. They look a little tighter than a Bobcat, but accessible nonetheless. thanks. j

    Kubota svl 75

Hmmm. Grim. No doubt about seeing a lawyer. The least they should do is loan you one. As I mentioned in a different thread, an SSV65 is on my list, but after reading this and the other post, I think I'll delete that machine. Thanks for the info, but I am sorry to hear about it, too. Bad news for...

    Kubota SSV & SVL Threads

Wow. I am downsizing from a JD 332D and the Kub SSV65 is on my list of "look at"s. This gives me specific things to look for. A 3/8" plate is bent already and that is "normal"? BS. That does not sound good.

JD320E vs Cat 242D vs Case SR210 vs Bobcat S595

I am downsizing from a JD 332D and these four machines spec out about equal, except on bucket breakout where the SR210 is way ahead. Does anyone have any SPECIFIC complaints about any of these? Dependability is #1, of course, followed by things like smooth hydraulics, ease of operating, etc...

Roll-overs and Tip-overs, don't try this at home.

My neighbor laid his Bobcat on its side several years ago, working above a brush fire. It was, yes, WAS, a gas machine, and fuel ran out of the tank. Responding well to gravity, the fuel ran down to the fire just a few minutes after he got out. Needless to say, the fuel burned right back to the...

Tire chain cross bar welding. Yes, it can be done.

The first link does not work (???), but if you get to the second one, click the "left" arrow on the pic and you'll see how skinny the links can be and yet a MIG gun can re-weld them.

Tazza. Thanks. I could not copy the pics, but here are links. I hope this helps someone else save some money. http://s862.photobucket.com/user/johnny10k/media/Tire%20chain%20cross%20link%20thin_1.jpg.html?o=1 http://s862.photobucket.com/user/johnny10k/media/Welded%20cross%20links%20B.jpg.html?o=0

OK. I posted pics on Photobucket, but have nfi how anyone accesses them. I am johnny10k there, if that helps.

Tire chain cross bar welding. Yes, it can be done.

Just an FYI. A while ago I mentioned having to weld cross chain links on my tire chains (emergency deal) and someone asked for photos. A bit later now (a couple years), here are some pics (if I can figure out how to post them) of what I just did. Is it worthwhile? I think so, if the links are...

    Tire chains questions

I have a JD 332 w/ 14x17.5 tires and have tire chain questions. My primary reason for chains is having good grip on hard pack but I don't really want to run bars on the cross links. For snugging the chains, I have two short chains that run across the wheel sort of parallel to each other. In the...
