I just bought a s775 and some one cut the horn and back up alarm off. It runs with no problem. Why didn't they just unconnect them? My guess as some thing shorted out. You don't say why you need to do this!

On my 742 if the drive arms are pushed to cage side it will lock lift. Make sure drive arms are pulled to to center.

Could be new starter is bad. Maybe a load test is in order. If it is a rebuilt starter then could have same bad spot to turn. Bobcat told me hit starter with a hammer on the side. See if that works. Could also be so tight you need to loosen nuts a little. If that is the case then spray away...

I would try wd-40 if possible to drive out water
