    S175 BobTach Replacement

My welding skills are limited, although I do have both a mig and very old crappy Montgomery Ward stick welder. My concern is that there is more rust than metal, and that the bobtach is visibly bent. Attachments do still fit on, although it's harder to lock the levers. I plan on keeping this...

    S175 BobTach Replacement

While I was moving a big dead tree, I noticed something happened to the Bobtach mount. It looked like I bent the lower crossbeam. on further inspection, I discovered that the beam was pretty much rusted through from the inside out. This further confirmed my suspicions that this machine was...

    New member and Desperate

That’s the bobcat in-line filter. I just changed both my right and left in my S175, and discovered some fragments of the hydraulic motor seals in both, which means it’s time to replace the seals in both. Seal kits are currently out of stock at bobcat. (I also owned an older Thomas, but it had...

Working under Skid steer advice needed

Agree with the solid blocking. Never use concrete blocks or bricks. Even when I block up my machine with solid wood blocks (8x8, 4x6, 4x4 etc) I can’t say I’m ever comfortable working under it. I keep thinking about all that weight. But we do what we have to do, as safely as possible.

    New to Skid Steers

Actually, the specs I have found for the S175/185 show only one travel speed of 7.3 mph, even though there is a toggle on the right hand control for high speed. I don't think my machine can do 7.3 even downhill. It's a real slow poke.

    New to Skid Steers

2 speed for the S175 was an option. My 2007 S175 machine is single speed. I wish it had two speeds because it’s slow, especially when in transit. Run your vin on the bobcat website and you’ll see attachments and parts for your machine. The specs may be there also. I have the brochure for the...

    853 starter clicking

I should have been clearer in my comment that I meant the starter solenoid contacts. This would be the two plates that contact the plunger when the solenoid is energized. Rebuild kits usually include the plates and plunger, but it may only be the contacts that are worn and pitted, leading to an...

    853 starter clicking

I agree that this sounds like a starter issue. The Denso starter in my old Thomas T133, w/Kubota V1902, did this for about a year before I fixed it. If yours is a Denso starter, the contacts wear down and do not make good contact every time your turn the key. Sometimes it's good to to engage...

    Skat Trak Koehring 1350

In case you didn’t notice, the Koering is a rebranded Thomas T-133. You can get parts through the Thomas dealer network and download manuals from the Thomas website. You’ll need your serial number, which is on the left side main frame rail under the seat when looking at the machine from the...

    Wanted Kubota Engine part

I recently bought a set on amazon for about $80 for my V1902. I have the old ones, but not sure how good they are. Some of them leaked.

    Thomas T-133 Starting Issues

A prior owner of my machine removed the emergency start button. So whatever it does can be bypassed. My machine cranks and starts fine without it. Check the wiring schematic. That may be some help.

Leaking right front axle seal on 153S.

I did an axle seal on my 133 last year. Only special tool I used was a bearing puller. If it’s anything like the 133, you can do it without those other tools. Pound the axle loose with a heavy hammer and a block of wood from the inside. Be very careful with the bearings (inner and outer)...

    Model identification

What’s your serial number? It’s on the frame rail under the seat base.
