I have a feeling that when I replaced the solenoid the first time, I just assumed it would fit right in and work. Never even thought of a missing spring. GOOD NEWS!! Turned out to be the seat interlock relay. $55 later, it starts, shuts off, and works like it should. I got a new seat as well...

Who knew, there was supposed to be a spring on the shutoff solenoid. Received it, and the snap ring. Installed everything on the solenoid, and the result is.. Now I can start and shut off in Service mode. As soon as I put it in Run, the thing dies with an ERR 02. Getting somewhere.

Long story, so here's the short part. Suspected fuel shutoff solenoid, but the old one may be good. Acting like you are starting the machine (with the injection pump lever pushed back), the shut off solenoid pulls in and holds in. Turn the key off, and the solenoid doesn't move. It releases, but...
