i didnt try the test with oil in the cylinders... i didnt even think about that, dang it, lol, its a little late now but i will try that if i still have low compression when i get it back together.. i did notice that the compression gets worse as i got toward the front of the motor (4,3,2,1)...
Well I got the head off... it looks to be in good shape as far as I can see... I would like to post pics but I don't see how to do it? After cleaning it off, I can't see any cracks... but I think im gonna have the local cylinder head shop look at it and see what they say.. and make sure its not...
Thanks for the reply... and no need to be sorry. i got a decent deal on it and was fully expecting it needing a rebuild when I got it... I did pull the valve cover and all the valves seem to have clearance and are moving... i was just hoping it may have been something simple that i over looked...
sorry i forgot to mention that when i got it i ran a compression check while i was testing the glow plugs..... first test results (cold engine obviously) cylinder #1 was 110lbs "#2 175lbs #3 155lbs #4 300lbs after messing with it for a few days i did another compression check with much higher...
hi all... i just bought a scat trak 1300c that was already broken down for my convenience..lol.. anyway it has the kubota motor in it (not sure witch model yet).. and it has 1800 hours on it. the guy i bought it from said that the guy he bought it from said it was running fine and all the sudden...
ahhh..ok.. thats makes total sense, i have been searching the forum for drive motor seal replacement and only found a few threads.. but nothing in detail .. i did find a manual that somone posted online but its pictures are limited and it just shows how to take the drive motors out but nothing...
I have a 742 with the gas engine. I was running my back hoe attatchment and all the sudden it started getting jerky and slower. I stopped it and checked the fluid and it was very low so I filled it back up and and went back to digging and it did ok for about 2 minutes and then empty again...
Ok guys... i think i got the timing dialed in ... seems to run ok now :) thanks again.... anyway,... my new problem is that it seems to make a loud whinning sound when i turn? its simmilar to the sound it was making when the filter was plugged?... but only when i turn?.. and it also seems to be...
oh yeah... one more thing... since mine has that square block with the 5 hoses what year range do you think it is? i was told its an 89? but the bobcat guy thought it was a 91?
THANKS A MILLION GUYS :-) it was indeed a cloged filter... i cant belive it was that easy of a fix... pulled the filter and cleaned the heck out of it, and it works great!!! (bobcat was closed and i just couldn't wait till they opened to get a new one).. WOW!! i still cant belive thats all it...
1st off, .. thanks for the replys guys :) I do have that square block on top of the pump that has the 5 hoses going to it like you said... i haven't ran it like this for more than a few seconds at a time just to show some people around here that might be able to help... one of them said it might...
