I have a hydra mac 10 and I am looking to add a secondary reservoir behind the operator so I will have positive pressure on the intake side of the pumps to avoid the starvation issue. I know that they did this with the next model (12) to fix that issue but I don't know how to set it up exactly...

It is hydrostatic. It's gear driven in that there are no chains driving the wheels it's all gears.

So my had your Mac model 10 uses the gearboxes is the reservoir for the hydraulic fluid. Hy Trans is $13.90 per gallon and I was wondering if I could use regular hydraulic oil which is $7/gal?

I picked up the skid steer the end of July. Have sandblasted and painted it all and have just finished putting the engine back in and hooked up all the hoses. Crossing my fingers that I will have it running and working in a few days
