Has anyone had experience sourcing wheel seals outside of Bobcat? I have many auto/ag parts locally available, however the nearest Bobcat dealer is over an hour away. I didn't think much of it until I found some threads warning against doing such things. Why?

If you can get it out and find a part number on it, your auto parts house should be able to cross it to a seal they can get. Sometimes the seals arent as good as the bobcat seals.
Ever consider just calling the dealer and having them ship the seals to you?

hot rod makes a great deal of sense. popping the hub is great big pain . and you gotta tool up for it. you only want to do it once. phone call ,ups puts it on the porch. but while we are on the subject why did seal fail. (yea they do ) first step confirm chain case level? pull plug does oil run out? 2nd place in air can you move wheel in and out. (excessive end play? cause and effect. treat the diease not the symptoms
