Do you have pictures of this beast? That is about double the standard HP, I bet it has a bit of power now :)

Yeah I will up load some I didn't get a notification I will check in to that but it has plenty of power. I need to do chains sprockets and bearings. next year. I will at the same time rebuild the head I have a messed up valve guide I found during routine maintenance. it's nothing to hit a 4 ft mound of rock and if the ground will hold you can push the pile over and level it at the same time. I am thinking about advancing the timing a bit more and gibing the pump a little turn on the fuel screw and shoot for about 70hp or add a gt28 turbo with the fuel where it's at. hopefully I can get the egts down a little they are not bad I don't think now but if I work it they might be

I have a little 310 Bobcat that I installed a 25hp v-twin kohler where the 16hp single used to sit. I was originally planning on a 18-20hp swap, but the 25hp engine was cheap, and the same block as the lower power units so I pulled the trigger.
Although the unit has more than enough power to do the work I ask, it almost has too much. It has enough power to destroy the parking brake if forgotten to disengage.
In the end, more power may help you do things easier, but your machine was only designed for so much. Be careful how much coal you pour on it, or things can get expensive quick.

I transplanted a 20 hp Chonda into my 440b. While the power is only a marginal improvement over the original 18 hp Kohler Magnum, the torque rise of this engine is much improved, and the machine stalls far less frequently.
I used this engine mainly due to availability and it's low purchase price. I have seen kits to put a 24hp engine in the same machine.
