Hello everyone. First off, I just picked up my first skidsteer. It's for my residential property and more just a little toy. It's an old new holland L250, the seller told me 1978 but I'm not sure how to verify this. I bought it in as-is shape and don't know anything about it other than it is gasoline powered and pretty cool. The right side "drive pump" (unsure of proper name) is currently removed as the previous owner stated it needs to be rebuilt (was only driving one side). I have the manual for it but cannot find much in there on this pump. So far (probably due to my lack of knowledge) I cannot find a replacement pump anywhere local for this. I was thinking of having the old one rebuild but I'm unsure of its state as I cannot tell much (mechanically inclined but no experience with hydraulics). The stamping on the pump reads: 7090131 -1 WF2 Can anyone shed some light on this? Can I find a replacement pump and swap it out? Cheaper to have rebuilt? What would this part actually be called? I can post pictures of the pump and machine once I figure out how, thanks in advance!

Welcome. Do a Google search For NH l250 parts. The drive motor runs $1100. If you have the old one I would think you could rebuild it your self. Good luck.

I think I gave you wrong information. I had a L225 gas, Wisconsin engine. Some parts were not to be found. I went to NH dealer for parts. Mine was a 1978. Later the L225 was made with diesel engine. If you have the drive motor you may have to rebuild it if you can get parts. Dealer will know what you need. You can call Messick's 877-260-3528 for help with parts. They may help but are costly. The 225 may have the same drive motors as the 250.

I have been searching endlessly (how I found this forum) and have yet to find the same pump that I need anywhere.. finding very little on this machine in general. Contacted my local NH guys and they cannot source the pump either..

You are right very little info. RepairManual.com 800-426-4214 has a repair manual. Amazon.com has a parts manual. (1976 NH l250skid steer parts manual) $78.95. If you are going to keep the machine you will need these manuals. They will give you part numbers. Make sure you get parts for 1976 gas model. Looks like you have an Oran engine. A repair manual will show the parts and how they go together.
