Has anyone used a Harbor Freight 22 Hp. twin to repower am 1816? I can get three of those engines for what I'd pay for one Honda. It's compact, and should fit in the engine bay. The muffler would have to be moved, but that should be no big deal. Looking for ideas.

I'm new to this forum. Just joined today. Not sure about whether or not the engine would work but I've seen allot of different engines being put in the 1816 on YouTube. Even saw one person put a ego metro engine in it. I guess what I'm saying is just about anything can be engineered to work. Just depends on how much modification you want to do. I have a Harbor Freight (predator) engine I've used in a gocart. Knock on wood it runs great and starts perfect even after sitting all winter without being started. If the 22 hp fits with minor modifications I would have no problem trying it.

Meant Geo Metro.
