Yeah tazza working at a scrapyard i see sooo much stuff......form dump trucks to trash compactorsto lift gates.....we even get scraps from a couple dealerships who love to repalce things when the machines come back from rent....... ...........Anybody looking for spare pumps or parts hit me up........ but back to the skid i have a ton of pics how do i post them? I drained the hydro fluid and found i have about 10gal above the suction hose so lift is not gonna be a problem ....i also decided on a way to couple the pumps to my motor using my existing yoke and the collar that was on pumps when i bought them im pretty happy and i think it should work fine......i cut some plate steel for a bottom plate to start on the cradle that will hold my pumps and picked up the nuts and bolts......this coming weekend will see my welder who lays a nice bead and will be much better than m e and my little buzz box.... i have most of the hoses from my first attempt (the wood splitter valves) so its coming together nicely...........any thoughts or suggestions? oh yeah i also scavanged a sightglass with a thermometer built in which will be a nice addition

Sounds like you are on the right track so far. The sight glass temperature gauge won't be super accurate, but it gives you an idea of what's going on all the same.
Its not much but she's mine.....this was first attempt....the woodsplitter type valves just didn't control the fluid like I wanted it to seemed like they were robbing power from one another..... I'm workn out of town right now and will be back home tomorrow will post more pics of the teardown and rebuild of the new system when I get home.... You know I do not have a hydro cooler...this is something I'm gonna have to have isn't it?.....I do have a 20 gal res so that should help with heat but what do you guys think? I'm sure I can find some sort of rad back at the yard tomorrow when I stop to drop off paperwork I'm gonna look...

I think an oil cooler will be needed, you will be surprised at how fast the oil heats up when doing even a small amount of work.
Agreed, and I think it is not the hydrostatic drive that is making most of the heat, it is the vane pump for lift/tilt/aux. It doesn't take long for those lines to get pretty hot, even when the B'cat is sitting and not moving much (like jack-hammer or back-hoe work).
Ok so my welding isnt the greatest laugh if you want but im pretty confident all of the welds will hold....i got the pump and mount in place and boy was that a job.....those guys are heavy. .....looks like my measurements were pretty close and everything lined up well i did slot the holes in the back mount so i have some room for adjustment......guess ill have to wait till i start it up and see if there's vibration and adjust accordingly....... Now to find a suitable cooler and start plumbing.....im looking at a small cooler and fan combo on ebay, figure that migh be something i buy new just to make sure there are no holes or crap clogging up the ones i would bring home from scrapyard........any recommendations on size? I see some smaller ones for around $150 which im not opposed to buying but i wanna make sure im getting something big enuf for the job......what size is stock one from a 743? Anyone know?
The stock one isn't big. It is impossible to even see when everything is back together, so I can't give you a picture or even measurements of the tubing/fins. The best I could do is guesses from memory.
On second thought, there are a couple of removable covers on the fan shroud, I may be able to peek and take pictures tomorrow. I forgot about those covers because the screws were rusted/galled in place so bad that the covers were rather "non-removable" when I first went in there. They should come off fairly easily now.
Those welds look fine.
One thing i'd do is to weld in gussets forward, you don't want any flex in it when you move the steerling levers. The OEM one is made from pretty thick steel.
If you can't get a picture, let me know. I have a 763 cooler at my parents place that is removed so easy to take a picture.
As long as the cooler you choose can handle the pressure, 120psi or so is needed.
