I trying to fix a friends JD 675B it will only start in service mode but when I switch over to operation mode, I can't bring my boom up. I jumped my seat switch and seat belt, since I really need to get the boom up to open the engine cowl and take the battery to clean it. You guys think it might be that black box in the cab? Where do I track one down? Thanks guys, dirtyhands

I'd expect it to be a sensor more than the control box. Did you check the seat bar switch too? thats if this machine has one fitted of course.
I was going to say if you can jump power into the lock out coil you could use that to lift the boom, but of course you can access the control block can you!
I wish you luck on this.
Have you tried calling your local Deere dealer?

Yeah I jumped the seat switches and cause they where shot, but I think I jumped the lock out coil I think it is forward of the start and stop coils, no avail. Also I need to raise the booms to fix the bushings on the steering bar, those plastic pieces are shot, and the linkages will be toast in a while. I don't know why John Deere made it so maintenance cant be done unless the booms are extended, kind of retarded if you ask me if your dead in the water! Engineers are crack heads! I'll let you know what happens, thanks bro, Dirtyhands
