s185 rpm

When using my s185, it will rev hard. It happens randomly about every 20-30 minutes. Is this normal?

How long does run at the high RPM? A second or two, minutes or until you adjust throttle.

I would look at the drive belt. I'm wondering if it is slipping under load enough to allow the engine to rev up. The governed is part of the fuel camshaft, a rather indepth project if it is the actual cause.

It revs for just a short time, just up, then right back down. Also, it doesn't just happen under load, it has, but it will do it when its idling too. It happens intermittently, and on a random basis.

I would pull up a seat with a beer and sit there and watch it and wait till it happens

It must be getting extra fuel from somewhere. Pull the hose from the turbocharger to the intake and see if there's any oil in it.
