My current plan baring any further disasters is to paint my 864G this summer, continue working the dog snot out of it and sell it on the open market. You can net 4-7thousand extra dollars selling your machine outrite instead of trading it in. At that time the old machine will be paid off and sold and I will take delivery of my new gold package T-300 with a bow just in time for X-mas. Lets just see how my luck holds out. By the way a current quote as of 3 days ago for the new machine is $52,500 at 5.9% for 5yrs and a payment of @ 920.00 per month with down payment. Not for the faint of heart. With the new warranty it should keep me out of trouble.

I agree, the best way is to sell it in the paper, when trading it in they never give you what its really worth. I started painting my old unit when i gutted it to repair the park brake and the hydraulic controll vavle block. It really is alot of work to re-paint the entire unit. I wish you luck in painting, i gave up after painting the inside, i just wanted to put it all back together. I left it so i can still finish the outside when i can be bothered :)

Wow... nice present! Good luck on the painting. Let us know how it goes!
I put 49.4 hrs on old 864G since the last major drive problem repair and wouldn't you know the right housing and seals are leaking . This is the precursure to another $3k repair. Sooooooo the next best thing is a fresh start with a new machine. I am not totally convinced to that track machine during the snow season so I might add to the inventory with a large wheeled loader. However the T-300 is just a matter of time and company growth.

You won't regret the Gold Pkg. Anyone who gets a cab without a power Bobtach is crazy, and the deluxe panel should save you a little on your insurance

I have settled on the S-300. It should be able to handle the 84" combo bucket without major difficulties and should be alot smoother ride in parking lots pushing snow. I will post on Monday after I pick it up.

Haha, here's a link that should keep you working: http://www.loegering.com/VTS.htm You may want to consider it if you'll be muddying it up again. :)

Trust me I will have a set of Grouser or loegering tracks as soon as humanly possible. You should see the damn mess I made of my back yard with a brand new S300. It never would have happened with a track machine. But this too shall pass.

I like the Grouser tracks better for all around use, but I think you may get better traction with the Loeger. If it keeps raining and snowing here, I'll let you know ......

As far as digging up backyards and making a mess of things, it doesn't matter whether or not you have metal or rubber tracks or tires, as soon as you turn, no matter how careful, the lawn is dug up. The only way to minimize this is sheet the lawn with mats or drive in and back out. Also, dedicated rubber machines like to freeze up after a day of plowing so they should be put in a heated shop a night. It takes 2 of us only 20 minutes to install our steel tracks and the traction is night and day.

Point well understood about the undercarrige freezing. The quickest way I know to stress the drive mechanism and all associated parts is to leave it caked up with mud, snow or dirt and let it freeze. To that end I had a wide variety of cleaning tools to clean every time I parked my 864G loader. I would even park it on two 4x8x1/2" plates to keep the tracks from freezing to the gravel. However on to new topics.. My shiny S300 got put thru its paces on a good sized backfill. The dirt was mostly dry but all sand. I dont think I have had to work that hard to do a backfilll in years. Come to think of it, ...........since the last time I owned a wheeled loader. I have a price quote from bobcat for Grouser tracks plus the intial install with spacers in my yard of 3255.76. As Team Fountain would say its only money. Hopefully the T-300 is still on my Santa wish list and with the wheeled loader for snow and parking lots with remvable tracks I can turn my business in to the total Bobcat package.
