my bobcat 632 binds up when you go to steer it ,goes ahead and back fine. looking for answers please

probably the bronze filter on the pump is clogged, others here know more than i do on that but it's a common issue with that era machine

Does it make a snap noise when it binds? The sprockets on those machines are weak by design, they often need to be beefed up from the inside. A common problem with 6 lug wheels vs 8 lugs

It could be the filter, does it scream when trying to move, especially when under load like turning or pushing into a pile of dirt?

I have a 743 that has crawling, Today I almost got stuck. Then left side of the machine started staying wide open trying to run away. If I idle it down It (some times) will go forward again wide open. The right side is fine? The bucket and all else is good. It has 3800 hours. Do i have a bum valve?

It is better to start your own thread but I would block it up good all wheels off the ground and look for slop in the steering, the pintal arms can be fliped over for a new surface and the pucks are not that much when you pick up the cage look at the left of the seat first the older ones have two plugs that have to be undone first (this makes it harder) make sure you tie the cage up it can ruin your day look for wear and loose things not that hard but will test you
