we have a bobcat that keeps throwing an over charge code (03-10). It has a new alternator and battery in it. when it throws this code it locks out the whole machine. cant move the bucket, arms, or the machine. at idle its charging 13.9 volts, and you can move the machine, everything works fine. run it up to 2k rpm and its charging 14.5 and the machine locks out. I'm out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a car that was fine until you reved it past 4000rpms(small 4 cyl) then the voltage regulator in the alt would cut out and you would be on the battery. Maybe unhook the alt and see if it functions temporarily on battery only.

I would try as Merlynr said, try it with the Alternator output wire disconnected. Normal voltage for a 12V system is 13.8-14.2 volts, so the voltage is to high, may need another new alternator. Bill B
