773 hydraulic problems

I have a 2002 773 bobcat and it has recently started having hydraulic problems. The bucket will not lift and dump correctly. I can turn the aux pump on like I am going to use an attachment and the hydraulics work just like normal. When i crank the bobcat it is like it is under a load but when I flip aux on it is back to normal. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

could the aux hydraulic switch have gotten reversed or something? what you describe is how it acts when you engage hydraulics with no attachment....lift pedal moves bucket and wierd stuff like that.

It started doing this one day as I detached my backhoe from the tractor. I am kind of running blind right now. I am just now really getting into the mechanics of my equiptment. How would be the best way to track this problem down? How is the best way to check the selenoid?

If the backhoe has been on all this time I bet to has it right someone reversed the wires to give you constant flow

I was using backhoe off and on. I detach it often. It has never gave me any problems until now. No one has been involved with this tractor except me. We bought it new and i believe something is just stuck. Just not sure how to track it down. I have been looking at other posts and I am just wondering why would it work as normal on the aux. Does the aux bypass something in the regular operation hydraulic system? If the selenoid was bad would it be stuck closed for normal operation and open for aux?

A stem can stick either way, open or closed. If you lift the cab, you can swap the stems in the control block and see if the problem moves.

Does anybody know if there is 1 particular valve that would control the buck operation. The up down and tilt are all acting up. Is there a valve for the aux. that would be easy to track down to try first?

If you put a loop hose from aux coupler to aux coupler and things work fine then your aux solenoids are sticky or have debris in them. You can run it with the loop hose on and wont hurt anything and maybe the oil flowing thru will help. Have you tried repeatedly connecting the back hoe and disconnecting it?

I think it just freed itself up. I was out running it and I all of a sudden started working fine. Must have been debris. Thanks

Great!!!! Time to change the filters does it have chain case drain filters?

Not sure. I just changed the filter in the back.
