The 743 is a tough machine and simple to work on. In the one I had I ran Delvac 15W40 in the engine and a napa 10W30 in the hydro's, I used the old Hyd. Oil in my chaincase.

Do you think I could use 15-40 for all can get it cheaper and I live in texas

Thank you anyone else like to chime in?
Where i live, it never gets below freezing. I used to run 15W40 without any issues, i changed that to 20W50 because i got it really cheap and with the winters we get in Brisbane, it's not an issue.
If it gets really cold there, you may want something thinner. If you do use the 15W40 and have cold winters, if it's in a heated ship, it will be fine. The other way is to start it and leave it warm up for a while before using it when it's really cold out.

South East MO here and the weather is mostly above freezing. My machines stay inside so an overnight cold snap doesn't change the temps inside the buildings. If it gets too cold I can turn on the heat. Just picked up a couple of New Holland machines with 12,000hrs between them and always on 10-30 and somewhat poor maintenance. Pumps and drives are all original and strong on the New Hollands. So it would seem the 10-30 is a good combo as well.

Thank you I think I will go with 15-40 I can get it cheaper and can have one oil everything is drained so I will flush motor and hydros out with it and use that to fill the gear case unless I hear anything better thanks to all
