Bobcat 7753 Aux. Hyd. couplers

I just bought a 1994 Bobcat 7753. I have a Bobcat brand snow plow that I intend to use on this machine. However, when I went to hook it up to the 7753, the couplers were different sizes. The ones on the 7753 are of a smaller diameter than the plows. Since the plow is much newer, I was curious whether Bobcat changed their coupler size after 1994?? The answer to this question will also tell me which ones I should change, since I intend to rent some additional attachments in the future. Appreciate any help you guys can provide me. Thanks

your machine must have the pioneer connectors, and the plow has the newer flat faced connectors. the flat faced are much nicer and better system. any hydraulics shop should have them. get good ones, you get what you pay for.

Yes, the plow has the flat faced couplers. And I did some additional research since posting this and had come to that same conclusion. That the flat faced are a newer and better style. Guess I'm buying some flat faced couplers for the 7753. Appreciate the help.

if I had my pick on flat face or old style I would go old style for numerous reasons , cost being one

I know this issue boils down to personal preferences. But cost aside, is one really better than the other? And will I run into problems with rental attachments if I do not go with the newer flat faced type? I am new to this issue, having only a backhoe w/o any aux. hyd. I just want to be sure I only have to replace these once. Again, thanks for the info. I love these forums.

I think you'll have trouble renting any attachments that have anything other than flat-face couplers. It's like finding nuts and bolts with left hand threads. They're out there, but they're hard to find. I've bought a number of attachments, even old attachments, and each one has had FF. If you have to have the Pioneer couplers, buy and extra set and one set of FF. Get two double males couplers and make your own adapter. The FF are no more expensive than Pioneer. You can get 3 or 4 sets on ebay for about USD30 per set. I've bought them and they look like the set I got from the dealer for twice as much, and they work fine, too.

Just my two cents, but one of the first things I did with my 742B was to replace the Pioneer couplers with a set of flat faced couplers from the dealer.
I have four attachments that use aux hydraulics. They are a mixed lot, all flat faced but some from the Bobcat dealer, some from the local hydraulic hose shop, and some from E-bay. So far they all work well. They are easier to keep clean than the Pioneer couplers, and I haven't had any leaks yet.
As already mentioned, it will be better to have the flat faced set-up when renting attachments.
