So now that my M700 is pretty well sorted out, I'm looking hard at getting a backhoe attachment. At some point in that machine's history, the aux. lines on the left hand boom were removed. The flex hose coming up from the valves to the rear boom pin are present and sealed off at the fitting. So first step will be getting some new hard lines and connecting flex lines made. So I've become aware that there's several different quick connectors and I believe this machine came with the old style. In fact, the second aux. lines are present with those quick connectors (attached via bracket on the rear door/counter weight). My current thought is that any attachment that I'm likely to purchase (as in used and affordable) and is compatible with this older machine will probably have those old style couplers. Do you guys think I'm headed in the right direction or should I consider the "flat face" couplers on the replacement aux. flex hoses? Does anyone know at what point the Bobcat backhoe attachments changed from old style to newer?

My suggestion would be to go with the newer flat flaced, easier to connect and no oil loss when disconnecting. True any older attachement you buy may have the older stuff but that can always be changed and in the mean time if you rent anything they will probably be the newer flat faced

def flat faced. once you use them you will realize how inferior the old pioneer ones are

And there are pioneer to flat face adapters available if needed.
where's a good place to purchase the newer couplers, my old machine (1980 ) has the old ones , all though i dont use the attachments right now in the future i might so i should upgrade to the modern couplers .
Thanks Jess

I upgraded to the flat-face connectors this past year. Picked up the connectors at my local hydraulic shop. Definitely an upgrade! Wish I had done it a long time ago!
I kinda like the old pioneer? connectors better. I have to poke them with a screwdriver to bleed residual pressure to get them to connect sometimes, Never had to do this with the old style. I guess they flow better but they better at more then double the price. Around here theyre typically $50 per connector.

Ive bought a couple different sets for a brader blade and my chainsaw this year, we adapter bushings they were about $106 a pair, i have seen Grainger carrying them for about $20-30 each but by the time you add shipping, and bushings, its the same price. I get everything form ESCO locally, by far the best shop ive ever dealt with, im always helped within 30 seconds of coming to the counter, and my parts are in hand in 2 minutes, custom made hoses within 5-10 minutes.
