Hi I have Thomas 233 and the left front drive chain keeps breaking. I have looked for all the usual stuff, did the preload on the axle bearing and thought that was the problem as it was loose. But after tightening the preload and replacing the chain and about 8 hrs of use, it has let go again. Do you guys have any idea's, thanks

Are the tyre diameters the same on each side? if they are different, it can break chains when working on sicky sorfaces like bitumen or concrete.
Did you use quality chain? and not cheap chinese chain?

Hi Thanks for the input I do have one very bald tire on that side and i did consider that as a possible cause but i have only been using it in dirt and alot of of it covered in grass. Was loading round bales with it when it let go again. The other tire is full grip

On that sort of surface, i can't see grip being the cause, i'd like to think it could have just been poor quality chain. Not sure what else it could be. I'm sure the tyre wear can't help matters though.
