I have just had a downpour that resulted in flooding water entering our cottage. There is a track that requires 'Sloping' away from the cottage and property rather than being 'Flat'. I have minimal knowledge with earthworks but was wondering if it was possible to do this and how to best approach it. Sincere thanks for any suggestions.

It can be done, but getting the initial angle can be a pain in the butt. They way i do it is to lay dirt down on the high side, this will slope the machine to allow you to cut the angle. When you get it started its much easier.

Many thanks for your assistance - Greatly appreciated. I was planning to place some heavy gravel on the high side hopefully to stop the water overflow. I can use this higher level to advantage as you have explained. Once again, many thanks. Aussiedownuder (Australia)

Good tip there Tazza.
Thank you to everyone for their advice and guidance. Being reasonably new to Skidsteers (Mustang 2050) I just wanted say I had a 'Play' over the weekend and all things went to plan. A little uneven in places due to some digging but certainly created the angle of slope away from the cottage and property. The Beers on me!
