I am tring to repair a 642b. I have located another 642b that I can get the parts I need from it. I need to sell some of the other parts or what's left of the machine. I think that those lift arms might fit my 742. The Bobcat PN is 6703953. The problem I run into is shipping them. Not sure if it is worth your time or not, but if the PN is correct and you could find a shipper that is reasonable to Oregon I might be interested in the lift arms. Thanks

That part # is the new style. I will have to check and see which arms the machine has. Check and see which arms you need. I would think that shipping would be around 200.00 . But only a guess. Email me directly and we can talk price. Aaron

The part # are the same. They just made a change from the 40 series to the 50 series bobtach pins and bobtach are different. Not sure if they swap? Need to know if frame is 40 or 50 zseries. make note that I am not 100% sure of previous comments.

I have a 742. Wengers has a set of lift arms from a 643 that they said would swap out. I assume that the 642B arms are the same as the 643. The problem is that the shipping company wants $1200 to ship a $500 part. The size of the arms pushes the shipping to an "oversized 500lb item" even though they only weigh about 250lbs. I have a 543 also, the width of the arms is the same as the 742 but the lenth is different. It's getting to the point that it would be cheaper for a guy to have a custom set of arms built than try to buy a used set.

I'm curious to how people are breaking or bending the loader arms. Where do they normally break?

It's actually pretty common. They crack where they call the heel is. Look at the arm, where the lift rams push. The two metal plates that are welded to the tubing, they crack here on the underside. As there is so much force here, it's a potential failure point. Even more so if the machine was used for demolition. Mine was in a real sad state, they had cracked right through and poorly re-welded.
I repaird hem with relative ease. Gouged the cracks out with a plasma and re-welded them. I even cut the top out and installed plates inside and welded them in too, welded the top back on, you can't tell they were welded.

The arms on my 742 are cracked in several places. One of the arms was cracked in half and poorly patched and welded. But the worst cracks are in the "box" around the tilt cyl. The hinge plates were poorly welded at the pin, from the cyl. side of the "box" you can see cracks in the plate under the factory welds that have not been fixed yet (blessing with the poor welding done in the past), the plate that hits the frame when down all the way has been poorly welded and has recracked. The list goes on. I got the 742 for cheap as a project. I think the guy that had it in the past must have been trying to beat down a concrete wall with it. Even the engine door is concave and the hinges welded back on. Some people are just really hard on equipment.

Wenger is about 2000 miles from where I live. I want to try uship but it gets complicated when dealing with a business. I have to purchase the arms and then hope that a shipper will bid low enough. Kinda risky if I don't get a good bid.

Yeah, mine cracked there too, it took a lot of welding too. I don't know how many metres of welding i did, but it took me a while. Gouging it with the plasma then welding it in with my inverter welder.
