My friend has been fighting this for 3 weeks now or more. He said he thought he found it when he discovered his coolant was low. He filled it and it ran for almost 5 minutes and then started shutting down again. It gives a warning light before it shuts down. He has a manual but there are no numbers on his pages. He lives in the mountains and only has dial up so he asked me to get on for him. Does any one have a trouble shooting check list?

Ok, these machines have no electronics to shut the engine down if it detects an error.
Start with the fuel system. Has the fuel filter been replaced? make sure the bleed screw on the injector pump is closed. Give the primer bulb a squeeze, it should be firm and you shouldn't be able to feel bubbles.
You can eliminate a cracked fuel pickup tube, you can get a bottle of fuel, run a line with a primer bulb to the pump and see if it keeps running. If so, its a problem before the pump.
You can also keep squeezing the primer bulb while its running to see if it speeds up, if so, it could be the lift pump.

Thank you very much. I will pass it on. I had the number wrong. It's a 763 model. Tom

then its another ballgame we need to know witch serial number this machine have if the machine stops there is a fault code
Yep, different machine and it does have a computer.
Things that shut the machine doew in 20-30 seconds are 'critical' faults like low oil pressure, low charge pressure, excessive temperature.
