i have a 7753 and it is overheating after 10-15 min oflight work. a little smoke when it starts but clear after that power is good throughout. any ideas whar could be the problem? head gaket? head cracked? thermostate? any ideas thoughts or help is appreciated.

Well it could be many things but here are a few to ideas to start.
Is the rad clean under the oil cooler?
The belt that drives the fan is on a spring loaded tensioner, somtimes the tensioner seizes up and the belt slowly gets loose, which prevents the fan from turning full rpm, thus reducing air flow through the rad.
Could be a thermostat, could be a faulty temp guage sender or a wire with bad insulation grounding to frame.
Can you get your hands on a hand held temp gun to confirm the engine is in fact hot?
Is the engine using any coolant? If the head was cracked your antifreeze would likely be getting lower.
If you let the machine sit and idle does it cool down or keep getting hotter?

Ken , gave you some good things to look for , a couple of other things is the aux hydraulics can get stuck on , but if this were the case you would here the hydraulic hiss and the water pump belt loose ----------- the most common cause is the cooling fan drive belt and the radiator clogged up between the oil cooler and the radiator

Thanks, I will check the Hydrolics, but I didnt hear a hissing sound. The fan seems to work fine and the belt is tight. I will check for the radiator clog. The engine is definatly getting hot, but didnt seem to use any coolent other than what bubbled out. it does cool down at idle.

I checked the area between the oil cooler and the radiator. it had a little debrie on it but not. much a blew it clean. can anyt thing get under the radiator? it seems like it is seealed off to the cooling fan? the oil was at the high mark and I drained it to the midway point. ill run it tommoroe to see if that helped any. next step will be to change the termostat.
