I am getting ready to build a grapple for my machine. The problem is that I am at work for the next week and can't get the measurement I need. I would like to get the measurement of the lower Bobtach point on the machine. I want to ensure that the teeth engauge the ground deep enough to dig up roots, but not go too deep. I have a 773 Bobcat machine, but would like measurements from other machines if possible also. The should all be pretty close I would guess. I am designing it on AutoCAD and want the design to work on all machines.
Thanks in advance.

I'm home now and can get the measurement. I was looking for the lowest point on the Bobtach. I making drawings for a root grapple and wanted the tines to engauge the ground deep enough, but not too deep. It would be nice to be able to drive forward with the skidsteer arms all the way down and have the teeth about 8" into the ground.
Do you think 8" is enough penetration, or should I plan for more?

Thanks again for the offer Ken.

My concern is backing up with 8" in the ground you will need to lift the bucket /arms up to back up unless you make the back edge from the backing plate to the bucket/tines slanted so when the bucket tilts back fully the back dosent hit my root bucket only hangs about 1" lower and hangs up sometimes keep us posted Jeff
