Hi everyone i just bought this machine, and i have oil leaking from somewhere? i opened the back up and oil is sprayed everywhere. I went to check the oil and when i pulled the stick out oil shot out Hmmm and it sounds like air is leaking from somewhere. Any advice on this would be great thanks. Oh its a perkins diesel and the year is 1989

The oil leak is engine oil or hydraulic?
If the dipstick was blown out, it sounds like your breether is plugged up. If you removed the dipstick while running its normal for oil to be splashed out as its flung around a fair bit inside the engine.
The best way to find the leak is to give the machine a really good clean! de-grease it and hose it out. If its all oily, you stand very little chance in finding it.

Sorry, never worked on one.... I would have a look around the rocker cover, they are *usually* around that area.

The lines that you see on the injectors is your tap off lines, they simply return the fuel from the internal leakage of the injectors to the fuel tank.
There should be a hose from the rocker cover to the inlet manifold if its not simply a tube that hangs down out of the engine block. I have actually had an engine that hornets built a nest in the the breether tube, i started the engine and i could see bubbleing and hissing from the throttle linkage. It would be a pretty good bet you have the same problem, but you need to find the rotten tube....
Sorry i can't nail it down, but there must be a breether somewhere.

I think the Isuzu breather was located above the starter area, and could be pinched when replacing the starter

I have a 853 w/ same engine. I recently replaced my starter. Today opened my back door and behold, engine oil at bottom of frame. Well, I found out my breather tube was pinched when my door was shut. Would this cause oil to leak, and if so, where from?

yes a pinched breather tube could cause oil to leak out the weakest spot it can find , which if you didn't have any leaks would probally blow the dipstick tube up and blow it out the tube , but you said you seen it under the engine ?, so I'd clean it up and check it out , that machine seems notorious for getting a hole rubbed in the bottom of the oil pan from small rocks getting between the tank and the oil pan , usually the motor mount rubbers are worn out and spongy from oil when that happens , you should have opened a new thread
