753C brake sticks

I have a 753C that has a problem with the parking brake. When you first start it up the brake is on automatically. I have to repeatedly flip the pedal on and off until I hear the clunk that it let go. This also happens if you exit the skid steer. When you get back in it you have to play with the brake to get it to release. I had it at the dealer and he said there were wires that had chaffed and were shorting but it still does it after the "repair". Not sure what's wrong.

Does your machine creep a little? Mine when it creeps forward the brake will stick and I just pull back on the sticks a little and the brake releases.

What I've found in the past is that either the 4 bolts (3/4"head) that hold the brake/guides in place loose and allow to bind up. Also have found the 1/4 " bolt on the plunger for the brake solenoid will have a groove worn in it from the 'lock' and not allow to release properly, when I found grooves I always put in new bolt. Also could be an electrical issue but I'd check the mechanical side first.

It seems like the solenoid is binding because if you move the machine just a little it will sometimes release. I think there may be something more to it though because this doesn't always work. Sometimes you have to just keep on trying until it lets go. That's why I am looking for other possibilities.

I found on my 751 that when there was a load on the park brake, like on a hill, it wouldn't snap free. I found you kick the brake off and move the levers back and forth and you hear it snap up. The brake block is actually spring loaded. The solenoid will pull up and put tension on the block, when the load is released off the block it will be pulled up and allow the brake disc's move freely. I agree that it could be burs in the guides or bolt, as the brake comes off when you try a few times i believe its a mechanical issue, not the coil its self.

It is perfectly nomal for it to not snap off if the machine is trying to creep or if there is a slope that rolled the machine at shutdown and that is putting pressure on the park pin (everyone calls it a brake, but it is a mechanical lock or pin.
If move the steering levers the opposite direction (of the slope or creep) always releases it then it it functioning normally. If moving the levers doe not release it when it “stick on” then investigate the mechanical issues.
