Hey all,
What was supposed to be in these machines, a safety bar or a seat belt. Mine has neither, and I hate it. I'm skinny as a rail, and there has been more than one time where I nearly got bucked out of the machine.
When my friend lent me his 863, it had the bar. It was great as my daughter could sit on my lap and we would both fit behind the bar, making me feel a bit safer about letting her ride with on easy slow tasks. She always asks to ride with me in the new one, and it breaks my heart everytime I have to say no.
If this rig only had a belt, has anyone installed a bar into one?

Not sure if they came with one or not. But if you want on and used is not available I don't see any reason it could not be made. Belts help alot too as this is all my NH has.
The case style bar would be the easiest to make on install in a machine that never had one imo. Try to get a look at a older 1840 or 1845 Case, if the 731 never had a bar.

My 731 never had a bar either, it did have a lap belt though.
The ROPS was drilled for a seat bar, you could buy the bar plus the other parts to hold it up, they are a little expensive though. I'd personally go for the lap belt though.
