It would have to be from a 773, 773c or 773f as the G and K modls used 2 bucket tilt cylinders. Even then You would have to do some careful measurments, check pin diameters etc, as there are subtle difference between the bobtachs on new versus older machines within the same model #

The guy also had said that it would fit an S175 and a S185. I'm not sure if he knows what model# it came off of and he's too far away for me to do any measuring. I don't know if I should take a chance on it or not. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

That Bob-tach won't work on an 843. The coupler for an 843 is a unique animal. A coupler that fits S175/S185 can be made to work on any 7xx but not an 843.

Hey Charuk I learned something new today, and I thought I better come clean as I remembered this post......
I worked on a guy's 843 today and I noticed his Bob-Tach was the new school type. When I asked him about it, he said it was salvaged from an 853, which is a common Bob-tach, with the single lift cylinder.
He said he had to grind about 1/8” of the pin bosses on either side to squeeze it in there. So he lost his seal shoulders and it's too tight for the seal cups, but the tilt geometry looked okay with his stock tilt cylinder.
I told him he might think about welding some stops between the tach and the boom arm to keep from beating against the cylinder head, but it looks like a guy can make that tach work. I also saw that there was plenty of boss to grind away on the boom side, to save the tach seal shoulders and use the cups, if a guy wanted to go that route.
He used the 1 1/2“ tapered pins.
That new style tach is expensive, but it's a lot easier to find and cheaper and better than a new 843 tach from the dealer.

How about one off a 863? Would that work?

Yes, I think so, according to what I saw and was told-853 and 863 are the same p/n. Looks like it would work to me, taking about 1/8'' off either end of the Bob-tach or the bosses on the insides of the lift arm. That's what this guy had done.
