Hello
I have an S250 with starting issues, but only on first start up. Once it starts it runs fine and will start every time after till it sits for a period of time. It pops up with code #8250 - Starter relay signal wire voltage not present when voltage expected popping up. I took over for the old mechanic here and i guess he rebuilt the engine minus the injectors. I have tested everything in the fuel system, hosing, pump, etc. I also checked all the starter system and wiring associated and have correct voltages, etc. I've checked the relay and grounds. Its one of those gremlins - am I missing something?

Have you tested the cranking power of the battery?

The battery may be bad and the alternator charges it enough when it is running to work fine for the day but after sitting it doesn’t have enough left to start the machine.

I did yes and it passed as well.

I’d replace the relay for the starter. You also may have corrosion on the wires inside the fuse box. I know went through the same issue.

Well, it could be also the Starter. Had it many times that the Solenoid is bad and does not give feedback to the controller.
