I recently bought a Mustang 2050 (1997 model) from a dealer. As part of the deal, the dealer included a hydraulic hammer at no extra cost. He mentioned that I would need to install a free-flow return hose back to the reservoir.

After reading the manual and doing some Googling, I'm even more confused! One of the hydraulic connectors is labeled as a return— but is this a restricted return, or does it allow free flow directly back to the reservoir?

Also, just to clarify, the machine is not equipped with a high-flow system.

The manual does say that the machine can be used with a hydraulic hammer, as long as it's not connected to a high-flow circuit (which I don't have anyway—so no risk of that happening!).

Hope someone can clarify this for me 😅

How many hoses are attached to the hammer, if it is a low flow unit it only has 2 hoses, all hi flow attachments have 3 hoses. all standard flow (low) flow attachments use 2 hoses and have no need for the case drain (3rd) hose, if the hammer u have has 3 hoses it is a hi flow unit u will need to add the 3rd return hose to operate the hammer.
with the loader being standard flow it may not work as well

The Hammer only has 2 connectors. Well i'm gonna hook it up and give it a try then 😅 Right now I'm trying to figure out why the machine is stopping when i'm using any of the hydraulics 😂 so i need to fix that first 😅

Perfect should be good to use. is the engine shutting off, just using the bucket or the auxiliary couplers or both

It kept shutting down every time I tried to use any of the hydraulics while they were unlocked. I think I figured it out – the cable for the seatbelt sensor had come loose. But I managed to drain the battery while searching for the fault, so I'll see tomorrow once it's done charging.
I'll keep you posted!
Thanks for your advice and knowledge!
