I'm back. Adjusted the valves, it started fine. Then did the maintenance , including fuel filter. Now it doesn't start..starter cranks it over, but no fire. Manual says to bleed the air, so I open the vent on the fuel filter bracket and pump the bulb until I see the diesel come out the vent, and close the vent. Still doesn't start. So, do I put the wife in the seat, have her crank it while I pump the bulb at the same time? Or have here crank it while I open the vent on the injector pump? Thanks

Oh...last time I replaced the fuel filter I didn't have this issue, didn't need to pump it. But while adjusting the valves, I remove two of the fuel lines. Do I need to bleed these lines by loosening the screws on the fuel rail on these cylinders?

Actually, the last question doesn't make sense...it ran fine after the valve job and before the fuel filter change. Plenty of fuel in the tank.

As you only removed 2 lines, the other 2 should be full of fuel, the others will purge on their own when it's cranking.
Is there a chance the fuel shut solenoid is not working? if it's not, no fuel will be going to the injectors.

Tazza - It started and ran fine after the valve adjustment, just have problems once I changed the fuel filter. I tried pumping the bulb and opening the vent on the injector pump while my wife cranked the starter, to no avail.

well really it would be best if you cracked the fittings at the injectors bleeding each one as turning the engine over. that is the quickest way. but care must be taken as the engine can start at any time when doing this.

It's running...kept cranking, pumping, and bleeding the injection vent. Next step was to bleed the injectors, as suggested. Total Bobcat novice, but have an old BMW with mechanical injection so was familiar with the concept. Thanks all for the help.
