940-E Starter Motor

Hi all. I'm resurrecting a 940-E back to life. The owner has misplaced / lost the starter motor which he removed 6 months ago. I'm after a serial number off the starter motor. If any one could help out it would be most appreciated. Yanmar Engine: Model 4TN82E-AS

Since you know the engine model, a Google shopping search indicates that ebay is probably the best bet.

I don't know about the 940 but the 2040 and newer use a ridiculously priced hitachi starter. I have tried cheaper aftermarket ones with poor results. I don't remember the part numbers off hand though

I have an extra starter motor from a donor engine. It's located in Denmark. Not sure where you are located. Mvh søren
