Running my 763 and it died on me.. made sure i have fuel.. it was cold out like 30degrees.. added 911 diesel additive.. machine was running for 30min before it dided and i had to drag it outta the road.. i hav a code 02-16.. i put a new wix hydro filter on it like a month earlier n maybe 4 hrs of use... ehat does this code mean and will it prevent machine from running?? Also how do i fix.. or reset codes?? Any insite will help.. ready to burn this thing to the ground... ????????????????

30 degrees really isnt cold enough to gel #2 diesel fuel, so the 911 probably wasnt needed. However, changing the fuel filter anytime your machine is running a little rough or perhaps has stalled is a must. Their inexpensive and normally solve the issue or at the very least rule out a dirty filter. Moving on, when the machine died while you were running, did it beep 3 times first? If so, a code was generated from somewhere and told the computer to shut down the machine. If shut down by the computer, the computer will allow the machine to be re-started, but only for a short time before it beeps and shuts down again. If your not able to start the machine and it cranks over your problem lies elsewhere. Like Tom said above the pickup tubes are a maintenance item and do fail over time. If that is the issue, try adding more fuel to the tank so whats left of the pickup tube will draw fuel once again and your in business. You can also try jumping the starter solenoid, that will bypass any electronics as long as you engage the fuel shutoff to the open position. As far as resetting any codes, you cant. The only thing that will erase a code is when the issues is fixed. I assume you have a G series machine, not F?

If you do have a G series machine then the 02-16 code a hydraulic charge filter not connected error. Could be related to the hyd filter change earlier. Check to make sure there are no issues with the electrical harness at the hyd filter.

Its a g series machine... it was running before it died on me.. i dont remember if it beeped on shut down... when it shut down i was driving in reverse and it felt like it loaded itself down.. like bogged and slowed down like it was under heavy load but was empty.. it stalled.. i started it back up it started n just shut down... then wouldnt start any more after that.. i have a 02-16 code for hydro filter not connected... would that code cause a No start issue? I have a new fuel filter im installing tomorrow and gonna order a bobcat hydro filter n change again...

def sounds like starved for fuel. like i said earlier fill tank all the way, reprime the motor and see if it will start. it will crank, right?

Whats the best way to reprime.. i have a new filter im.gonna install and fill it with fuel.. how do i reprime??
Yes, you can fill the filter with diesel. Just make sure you pour the diesel on the outside edge and not in the center to fill it up so that the fuel gets filtered. If you have a fuel primer bulb use that as well while cracking the vent on the fuel filter housing until a bit of fuel runs out.

should just have to open the bleeder on top of one the the valves (small thumb screw) and squeeze the primer bulb a few times, no need to pour deisel in the filter, in my experience

The valve for bleeder is on the side of the filter housing where filter screws too?? Also is the wix hydraulic filter the same quality n micros as the factory bobcat filter anyone know.. im gonna change that filter again to be safe. Cant find bobcat fikter on amazon but can have the wix filter in two days that cross refernces... thanx for ur help.. this weekend ill be tryin to get this pig of a paperweight running... still got a tand of dirt n tandem of milling i gotta move when this shit ever runs again...

Bleeder is on top. Usually a knurled screw with a slotted head. Wix are good we run Napa filters which are made by wix. I would remove the hose going into the filter and pump the ball to see if you get fuel. Also make sure your fuel shut off is staying in the correct position sometimes they get weak and will drop while cranking

Ok got to messin with it a lil bit.. swapped fuel filter n hydro filter and new primer bulb... went to prime it n im getting nothing but sounds like air with bleeder screw open... do i need to bleed it with key on or can i do it with key off?? My gas gauge sucks.. i know i have 5 gals of fuel in it so now maybe thinkin the fuel pickup tube is shot... how hard is that on a 763 anyone know???

Tip the cab up it is kind of in the middle under the front of the hydro. Get a new pickup tube and rubber grommet. Lube up the grommet usually I find a short pry bar to push it in. I would take the supply line going into the primer and stick it into a jug of fuel. This will help determine if it's the pick up and allow you to raise the boom up
