I have a l555 skid steer I brought and having a issue with it. bucket works as it should but when you go to move the handle to drive the tires the left side works as it should but not the right side so I swap drive motors from each other and still the same issue right side starts to move but it slips like theirs not enough hydraulic fluid their if you hold the handle so far back and keep it their it will rotate as it should but that’s it so i took the front pump off and spilt the trans in half had it look at and guy said it was fine didn’t see anything wrong so but it back together and still doing the same thing

jack it up so all wheels are off ground. start and see if the wheels turn. If they do adjust so they don't. Check the coupling where the arms attach to the transmission. I had one on mine that came loose and worked the key way loose.Make sure the bolts are tight. Thats all I can think of. Good luck.

Forgot. Check the screen under front panel behind your right foot.make sure it is not plugged up. Just take the top off and lift screen out. clean it and replace.

I put a new screen in it I have had it up off the ground the right front will move but when you set it back down on to the ground it will start to move then stop left side works great just makes me wounder if it’s a hydraulic issue when you move the arm forward it makes a winning noise like it’s low on fluid but not

You stated that if you hold the stick back it will rotate. Will it rotate with the stick forward? The stick has adjustment so machine will run straight if both are forward or back. Check if the right side has come loose and is not adjusted right.

If you hold the right hand stick in back just a little bit and move the left handle forward it will spin around now isn’t their check valves in the transmission pump

I don't know if transmission has a check valve. I only can tell you what my experience with mine was. You need Mike10 to get involved or someone that works on these machines. I have all the manuals and can worry my way through a problem. You need to have machine off ground to adjust or check steering. Both sticks are in neutral and no movement at all in the wheels. Adjust until you get that. The rods have rubber bushing in ends. They can wear out. If steering operates ok on blocks it should operate on ground. There are people on here that can better help you than me. Be patient and good luck.

How do I get a hold of him

Switch the relief valves from side to side or pump to pump and see if the problem moves. Next I would check if the hydro pump is building pressure. For this you will need a 5000 lb pressure guage. Remove the hoses from the motor or pump and cap so oil can reach the motors. With the cap, install a tee fitting so the gauge can be attached. Start the engine and stroke the lever. Pressure should build until it reaches the set point of the relief valve. If no pressure and if you have not done it before, switch the relief valves. If the problem is still present the hydro pump is defective. Be sure the lever is tight on the hydro pump shaft and not slipping when you stroke the lever.

The above should read so when capped no oil reaches the hydro motors. This isolates the pump from the motor so you can check the relief valves or condition of the hydro. You can also attach a hose to the case drain on the hydro pump and run it into a bucket. If the flow is significantly more, when the lever is stroked, then the hydro pump has a severe leak internally.

Kk cool thanks ya I swap bouth drive motors side to side to see if that was the issue and it wasn’t I made sure the lever was doing what is was supposed to just feels like that when you stroke the lever theirs not enough hydraulic fluid in it now if you start to move the lever forward machine will start to move if you move the lever forward more machine will stop and not move

I am not that familiar with the pump/motor set up on the L555 .... Typically ( and on my LX865 ) the lever controls the swash plate in the pump & the motor reacts to the amount & direction of oil flow. It sounds like you might have a pump issue. did you notice any "sparkles" in the oil, hoses or fittings as you were swapping things around?

No I didn’t I swap valves around from rear pump to front still nothing I think next step is to put gauge on iTickets
