L553 alternator

Hello guys. I have a L553 that I recently bought. Runs great but the alternator only charges if you take a screwdriver and touch the B+ and W terminals together for a split second. Then it charges like it should. I've made all new ground straps and battery cables from welding lead so a ground shouldn't be a issue. Thanks.

Do you have a auto electric shop near you? I had problem with an alternator on another skid. I took it to a local shop and they fixed it for me for $48.00. I would have someone look at it if it was mine. Good luck.
