voltage regulator 743 is there one and where

battery water is boiling out. don't know the reason why.

I would think of two things, voltage regulator defective, use a volt meter and it should be around 14 volts while running. or battery has a bad cell and alt. is trying to charge into a short which would create heat causing battery to boil, I would think this is the most likely.

oh and I would assume that the voltage regulator is built into the alt. but that would need to be verifyed as some are externally mounted somewhere in the engine compartment.
