I am going to look at a 1998 new holland LX565 tomorrow that is suppose to have a hole in the engine block. The guys its a Ford engine. price is right and I do have time and tools to work on it. my question is any one know what is a good replacement motor for these ? I know where there is a cummins BT4T and a Perkins 3 CYL. I know with enough work they will all fit just curious if any one has done it and can recommend one over the other and why? Also any one know if there is an over ride to manually lift and lock the arms or do you have to remove the lines to do it ? thanks for the help all.

An engine conversion on these machines isn't near as easy as it sounds. The engine compartment is rather small, and the bellhousing/pump coupler must fit up exactly or you will have a lot of problems. I would strongly recommend finding a replacement engine as opposed to a conversion.
