Flow direction on cased drain filter

does the flow direction matter on the case drain filter?

This wasn't answered so I thought I'd give 2 cents…I'd say "yes" it matters. The bobcat bronze filter in the case drain housing is spring loaded to seat it in the housing.If the flow is in the opposite direction as intended/designed, the flow can compress the spring and let the schmutz (dirts/debris) pass through.
