DSL 801 aux hydraulic switch

When I push in the on button, the light comes on and the relay clicks, but when I release the button the light shuts off and the aux circuit shuts off. Occasionally it works just fine (and when I installed an on off switch instead of push button the system seemed to work just fine

I have cleaned all the connections I can find, swapped out the relay.

any thoughts

And to add. I do have the owners manual and service manual but they do not have the wiring diagrams for the aux circuit only the main wiring diagrams
