Info on cold start of Case 70xt

The cold start on a 70XT should be a thermostart system. Turn the key to the on position push and hold the switch for 10-15 seconds and then go into start while holding the switch. You are heating up a glow coil in the intake with the switch there is a temp sensitive in the glow coil that opens...

    Starting Problems

Your problem is fairly common with the 1800 series. I havw had customers replace the starter, battery, switch and or harness and still have the problem. The engage side of the starter is very sensitive to low voltage. You can replace a lot of parts and maybe make it better for awhile or in stall...

Case 440 Hydrostatic - need information.

I would be interested to figure out what this machine really is. As you have figured out the 440 machines are way newer and Case never used a Ford engine in any skidsteers.

Case 440 Hydrostatic - need information.

Do you have any pictures you can post to help identify your machine? A 440 Case skidsteer is a fairly new machine and does not have a for engine in it.

    Case 1840 Chain Install

The replacement chain on an 1840 does not have a masterlink, it is and endless chain. To replace the chain closest to the out side is not bad. Remove the center sprocket cover and the axle. Feed the chain over the center sprocket and roll the axle sprocket back and feed the chain onto it and...

    Loader controls stopped working

Didnt think about your machine having a cab. Most guys will push the plunger and put a zip tie or tape around it to keep it closed when they remove the door. The switch is there to prevent damage to the door when it is opened and the loader is raised or lowered into it. Make sure you have the...

    Loader controls stopped working

It sounds like your loader and bucket lock solenoids are bad or the wires going to them has been damaged. Probably by mice. Check the wires to see if they are damaged first. Usually both solenoids dont go bad at the same time. Was the fuse you were blowing the lock fuse and the machine would die...

    Case 1840 fuel level LED's

With the sender wire off the gauge should read full. With everything hooked bak up except the wire at the sender, touch the wire to a good ground for a while 15-20 second the gauge should start to go down. If it does not the wire could be broken between the sender and the panel. If the gauge...

    High Hours?

All I can remember is if the serial number does not have a zero right after the JAF it will have the newest motors and pump such as JAF123456. If it has the zero such as JAF0123456 it may not have the newest pump and motors.

    High Hours?

The engine is bullet proof if taken care of. That engine will go 10-12 thousand hours easy if taken care of. The rest of the machine is pretty fool proof and if taken care of and greased. Now for the weak parts on a 70XT. The early hydraulic pumps had premature bearing failures. There is a new...

    case 410 series 3

Check your auxillary pedal it sounds like ite is partly engaged or locked on. If the auxillary pedal is stroked with the lapbar up the machine will die.

    1835C gas engine rebuild

Definity check the engine over good for oil leaks. If it is burning that much oil it should be smokin and fouling the plugs after awhile. Ckeck the dipstick tube were it goes into the block, they are good about coming loose and leaking and it is low enough on the block it is hard to see.

    Foot Throttle for Case 1845C

Case did not offer a foot throttle on the 1800 series machines. I have seen some machines with a foot throttle system scabbed into them but they did not work very well.

    Case 1845c- boom won't lower

Check your auxillary pedal. It is probrably partly engaged and stuck in that position or the centering spring on the spool or the spring cap on the later syyle valve is rotted away and not keeping the spool centered and keeping the auxillary system partly engaged.

    loader arm hydraulics problem

The problem with the loader dropping when you start to raise it or the bucking dumping is in the load check valves in the loader valve. Most likely the spring that holds the poppet closed is broken. Repair kit part # H673572 should solve that problem and may take care of your cylinder drift...
