    Bobcat 450 won't start

You could be correct Tazza, modern gas is bad on plastic internals. The line Bobcat gave me is clear and plastic which I believe is the issue as modern gas will destroy plastic over time. What is happening is the hose breaks just below the 90 on the top of the tank. They use a special clamp to...

    Bobcat 450 won't start

Thought I would post a common problem, my Bobcat 450 wouldn't start Friday and after further investigation I was not getting gas to the engine. I have had this issue in the past an looked into the fuel tank to see if the fuel line and pickup filter screen was attached and it was. I suspected...

    Older Machines Float

SR yes shoes are a must. The plow will be fitted with round shoes similar to full size plows that are adjustable.

    Older Machines Float

I am with you...my machine like yours is very light in the front end. I was interested in the float because I bought a snow blade for this year and think float will help.

    Older Machines Float

SR My 450 does have Float. I was not pushing the left pedal down hard enough to lock it down. I don't remember if I could get my 440b to float, but I believe you are correct float is optional.

    Older Machines Float

Thank you! I have been pushing it down but not hard enough to get it to lock. If I push it down it kind of floated now if i push hard I have true Float. Anyone know when the pedal float was changed?

    Older Machines Float

So I have been wondering what the procedure is to make an older machine go into Float? My 450 Floats from time to time but I do not have an operators manual and I am not sure what the procedure is to make the machine Float. I know my 440B did the same thing and you would think after so many...

Anyone install a Push to Operate/seat switch replacement kit

Installed the PTO kit yesterday, took 45 min to do the install and longer to replace the seat. Machine operates well and the seat is much more comfortable. Wish I had done this a long time ago. As I took apart the seat switch it fell apart and I am sure it would have given me issue in the future...

Anyone install a Push to Operate/seat switch replacement kit

Thank you for the replies, I believe I will install the PTO kit. I have not had an issue with the seat switch but know it will come and I want to change out the seat and would like the freedom to use any seat I want. Any Opinions on the seat type to replace OEM seat?

Anyone install a Push to Operate/seat switch replacement kit

I am wanting to replace the small pan seat in my 450 skid steer and am thinking of putting in a Push to Operate kit that will remove the seat switch. I am not getting much help from the dealers in my area only that the kit exists and is in stock at Bobcat. If I put in a new seat the seat sensor...

    Enough is Enough!!

Good Job! These are Great machines that seem to be loved by those of us who own them, and not understood by most. My 440B my cousin now has and it is going strong, saw it just a week ago. My 450 has 600+ hrs on it and runs great. Worked my 450 all this week doing drainage, land clearing and...

Question regarding tires and rims for my Bobcat 440B

I am not sure I am clear but Bobcat makes 2 rim sizes for the 440b, other makers of rims in the same size may not make a rim that will fit. If i recall correctly SkidRoe modified rims for his 440b. Search and see his restoration work on his 440b to see what rims he used.

Question regarding tires and rims for my Bobcat 440B

Yes, the difference is the width of the tires and rims and the bucket width you have. if your bucket is 36" you would probably want the narrow tires and rims but if it is 42" you can use narrow or wide tires and rims but the wide tires and rims are the normal size and don't cut into the ground...

Question regarding tires and rims for my Bobcat 440B

I can't speak to the wheels of a John Deere or Cub Cadet, search this site for a post by SkidRoe as I remember he modified wheels for his 440b. I own a 450 and owned a 440b in the past. Both use the same rims, as for the tires and rims 36" wide machines (buckets) use the 23x5.70-12 narrow tires...
