I put a Honda gx620 into a case 1816 years back but now have a Gehl mitey mac. I don't want to mess with rebuilding the Onan in it or the high cost. I came across a decent priced Honda GX690 with supposedly low hours. running engine. First: I assume or hope they both run same rotation. I know I got to find a dealer who sells sleeves to increase the shaft size to the Onans 1 7/16" as I think Honda is 1" if I recall. Any other issues that would make this not a good swap? I did have good luck with the Honda in the old case as mentioned before. Thanks

Hopefully the direction will be the same, it's rare to get one that goes backwards.
If the HP ratings are the same, it should be ok.
A machine shop should be able to help you out with sleeves if you can't get one off the shelf.
