well pending how deep it was in water and for how long, I would be doing a LOT of things
I think first off, what I would be doing is draining as much fluid out of things as possible, this includes(again pending how long and deep of water it was in) your hydraulic system, motor oil, diff's
I would include removing as many hoses and or cylinders as possible to help drain any water in the system, as there is no real way to fully JUST drain things, there will always be a lot of fluids in hoses and cylinders, (There could be a few gallons in just hoses and cylinders that still has water in them, or worse dirt and ???)
next I would be replacing hydraulic filter/fuel filter, oil filter and then fluids,
again pending how deep and how long it was in water, so this might also include changing motor oil, and diff fluids
water can get in them as well, and can be very destructive if so!
as IF water got into fluids, SO did dirt and other things that ain't supposed to be in there that can destroy things on you
and to be 100% totally honest
there is NO magic way to clean out a system, be it motor oil, hydraulic tank, diff, other than tearing them down to clean 100% and see there 100% clean! anything else is, just a HOPE you got out things!
SO, EVERYTHING else you do, is what the guys that play in deep water and mud, (they sink things a lot and have the proof on what works and doesn't)
they call it a a gamble, some times you win/get lucky just draining or flushing things , or replacing fluids, some times get lucky and win, some times you don't!
SO< IMO< again, the things you need to be doing is removing as much oils/fluids that got water in them, replace with NEW clean fluids and filters,
run some and repeat the process,
so how many times you have to repeat the process?
Well there is NO magic number! its your call on this, more or less, more is some times better, but its all a gamble minus a true tear down!
food for thought on how many!
a lot of variables come into play, from again how long and deep the water was it sat in,(running water in a clean MT stream, or filthy swamp standing water that is thick like muddy soup or?? so how clean or muddy the water is matters or should be considered
as not all water is the same, and this also matters in what type of dirt is mixed in the water, , some dirt is well, more abrasive than others, , as salt water is more corrosive than fresh water and so on!
so again no set rule here to follow!
this is why instance companys total vehicles that get sunk, or sat in flood waters!
as again there is NO short cut to be 100% sure you removed all contamination that came in with water gets removed,
minus total tear downs which few want to do or can afford!
so its cheaper for them to total things!
they safer bet for them!
in the ATV /UTV and likes, world, there are tons of horror stories of folks buying a like new " X machine)" for sale, only to find out it was sunk and soon fails due to it! and there out a ton of cash to fix or eat the loss!
its one of them like scams, people do, when they know they sunk something and want to bail before they get the bills for repairs!
NOT trying to scare you, just adding honest food for thought here!
SO< again, you want to TRY and remove all the fluids you can that got water in them, replace with new fluids and filters!
and repeat again in a short period of time attempting to try and remove anything bad from system that got int!
NEXT?
your also going to possibly have electrical issue too, from corrosion , water and dirt with it can cause all sorts of issues!, false codes, errors, loss of connections and so on!
so your going to want to clean all of them as you can as well( I recommend you add dielectric grease when re connecting them)
fuse box also applies if again was under water!
NOW< as for damages, from water in things like computers and or ??
they will have to be addressed as or if they pop up now or down the road, !
water in places it shouldn;t be can be a nightmare at times, or just need time to dry or both!
SO, as for your issue with bucket not staying up, this can be from water still in system, or a few other things, hard to say, your going to have to trouble shoot to try and pin point things more
but I again would be starting with fluids draining, changing/flushing, and replacing filters till things seem really free of water before trying to resolve issue at hand, as water itself could be the cause still!
