I am not seeing any HTML tools or photo upload etc. even when I click the HTML or Design options below the text box. I just a made a post in another thread and used HTML tags and evidently the forum software did not recognize them. Are you just not allowing it or am I not seeing correctly what to do? Another issue I am seeing is, when I make a post, the text box will not accept my cursor to enable me to begin typing. What i have to do is click "Preview" then click the "Edit" button. Just founf that out after plating around right before I gave up. I am using Firefox and Google Chrome and get the same results with both. Please don't tell me I have to use IE. Because I won't ;) Thanks, Kevin.

I am getting it to recognize my indent tags at least, now if I could edit my past posts I could go break up those marathon paragraphs into something more easy to read.

Kevin, we do have current issues with Firefox. I'm in the process of upgrading the site so it'll support Firefox and IE equally in the future... Also, you'll have the ability to edit your previous posts...

I have the same problem with Firefox. But I do have a different one..... In order to even post a reply, I have to click "preview" then "back to edit mode" before my cursor will even go in the box. If that makes any sense. FWIW I too hate using IE.

Yep, that's the process you'll need to use with Firefox until we upgrade. Sorry for the incovenience.

Yes I have that "feature" also. Not a big deal really. There's virtually no forum software these days that does not consider FF, Chrome etc. so this must be a really old version of software? I use Chrome for my general surfing and FF for my online financials and this E-Spritlink software will not even allow me to log in using Chrome. I must admit I am curious about this upgrade and why it is so difficult to employ. Not whining as I am rarely here, but there are a lot of non-IE users out there, some of whom may be meeting with frustration but you never even know they gave up at registration and just left. Just a thought.

It's circa 2003 and yes old... But like most of us here, I have a day job and have bills to pay which does not afford me the time to get this done quickly. I am paying for another programmer and a designer to help me push this through.
The main part of the upgrade has to do with converting the forum module so we can move to the newer version of Dotnetnuke (which is the content management software we are using). There are also other pieces like the photos, videos, etc. that will have to be rolled up into other modules as some of these have links that point back to posts in the forum. There are other considerations as well, but these are a few items that we are dealing with.
My goal is to have this done by the fall, so I hope you and all of the folks that have been frustated by the limitations of the site will bear with me.
Thanks for your input

Keep up the good work.
The thing most people on here don't understand, is you get NO money from this site. The adds "help" pay the hosting and data charges. We don't pay for any of the info or access to the forum so really, no one has the rite to complain that it won't work in some web browsers. It does work in IE yes, FF has limited functionality, its just one of those things we need to just accept till the upgrade has been completed. I know some people were just stating it its not working, its always nice to know about problems, so I'm not trying to be nasty about that, we all want to know what problems are encountered so they can be addressed.
Some of that may come off as abrasive, but you know its true. You are being offered a free service, just deal with the *issues* of using IE. I personally use FF for 99.9% of my net activities, i only use IE for the SS forum, its a small price to pay :)

Keep up the good work Geoffrey!

Just to clarify. I'm not complaining. Just posting the issues I'm having for purposes of debugging and such. I don't have a problem with the inconvenience of using FF rather than IE. As long as I can keep reading and posting, I'll deal with it until the changeover. Not a problem here. No pressure :)

Here's a neat workaround I've discovered for us fire fox users. Instead of clicking the oval post reply button at the bottom left, right click it and select "open link in IE tab (third on the list). This enables the IE rendering engine in a new tab and the design reply box is right there with all the whiz bang features that make things so easy. Post reply, close the tab and continue as normal.
