I bought a used 3725 yesterday. The guy I bought it from (small dealer) said the previous owner claimed the engine lost it's prime after sitting a couple days. But he said while he had it he's never had a problem getting it started, even after sitting for a week unused. I was running it this morning. Ran fine for about 30 minutes then died. I couldn't get it started again. I let it sit awhile and then it fired up again. This time it ran about 5-10 minutes then died....same again, wouldn't start unless it sat for some time. This just kept happening over and over. I've been looking over schematics and I don't see an electronic fuel pump for the engine (Ford 411/413), yet there is an electronic fuel pump which had been added at some point. Looks like a NAPA unit from what I can tell. However, it appears a fuel pump is integrated into the engine, so I'm rather confused. At least I'm thinking it's a fuel pump issue, maybe even dirty fuel filter? I did notice the electronic fuel pump being rather noisy, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. At one point I banged on ths damn pump and then it started right up....... Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks.
